The reopening of the Catholic Church in Samsun has allowed us to be in communion with the entire Catholic Church worldwide during the different religious seasons of the year. ​

A look at the history of the Catholic Church in Samsun reveals that there were periods when the Samsun Church was closed due to lack of priests.  In late 2023, with the good cooperation of the Bishop of the Anatolian Apostolic Vicariate and the Marist family, the Marist family accepted the task or reopening the church in Samsun, known as the Mater Dolorosa Church.
